How children are protected here
This platform connects adults with children in community settings. These rules apply to every volunteer, staff member and partner, without exception.
Verification before placement
Every volunteer provides identity documents and two references. Anyone who may be alone with children also gives a written declaration that they are not barred from working with children.
No unsupervised first placements
New volunteers work alongside the school's own teacher for their first full term. Unsupervised contact is only possible after that term and a review.
Written consent for every photo or story
No child's photo, name or story is published without written parental or guardian consent, which can be withdrawn at any time.
No locating details published
We never publish individual school names, class times or details that could let someone find a specific child. Our public data stops at community level.
Data kept only as long as needed
Volunteer applications are held for 24 months and then deleted. Child-related records are held by the school and the foundation's safeguarding lead only.
Report a concern
A separate channel, read only by the Safeguarding Lead
This is not the general contact form. Concerns about a child's safety go directly to Zainab Bello, Safeguarding Lead, and are acknowledged within 24 hours. You may report anonymously.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact the Nigeria Police on 112 first, then tell us.
